a new chapter begins

I am still alive! LOL!....just really busy with real life and behind the scenes stuff that I cant share just yet.

Bobs left school on the 25th June - we spent an afternoon clearing out his desk and when he said he no longer wanted his exam revision notes I was mortified! I couldn't help but retrieve them all from the depths of the black bin liner and have stored them safely in his Memory Box....I'm sure he'll appreciate them in years to come.
I had the idea of bundling up some of his notes and using them as my base for one of the recent Pencil Lines sketches.

I used a bull dog clip and wrapped twine around the notes to hold them securely together. I embellished the front cover using pages which had been torn from Bobs daily planner - I love how he underlined the words "last exam" and followed them up by a smiley face - its not that Bobs didn't like school - he really enjoyed it - he was just so glad to have his GCSE's done and dusted....and now we eagerly await his results!

Product used - Ki Memories alphas, American Crafts Thickers, Sassafras Paper Whimsies, Papermania Scrabble Letters, Queen and Co brads, Heidi Swapp acrylic stars, old tickets, buttons and twine from my stash box.

June 29th was Bobs Prom Night and what a grand affair it was too - it was wonderful to see all the girls in their beautiful gowns and the boys in their dinner suits - although both Hubs and I felt so old as we remember most from their first day at school almost 12 years ago!

Bobs had mates over to stay after the Prom and many opted to stay for a second night - which meant I was well and truly eaten out of house and home - on the third day I sent them all packing and attempted to put my house back into order!!! Why are teenage boys soooo messy and always sooooo hungry??????

From then until now I have been kept busy scrapping lots and when I'm not scrapping Ive been entertaining and organising the guys.

I took some time out on Sunday to join Hubs and J as they went for a little ride on their bikes....

I'll leave you with my Pencil Lines layout for this weeks sketch.

All product used is from Sassafras.

Thanks for dropping by.

Ah, so you haven't really been hiding then!
Love the post today and the two brilliant "boysie" layouts you've made. What a great idea to use those notes and some of Bobs' own planner with writing. I hope he'll look back at that in a few years and really appreciate that you made it for him. GCSE's are such a stressful time, but later on he will probably be a bit nostalgic about school.
The prom/friends photos are great; and I think that layout is really fab. It's the best use of flowers on a male scrap page that I have seen. They don't look "flowery" at all. Great patterns and colours. Really good.
Thanks for sharing your projects - I loved seeing them (and hearing you are still alive!!).
Now I'm just waiting to hear about the thing you "can't tell" us yet!

First off - it rocks that your son wanted to crash with his friends at your place! And um, second - it gets worse with the food and mess?! lol
