Its Friday so time for me to share five of my fav's this week.

Bliss

Hubs managed to finish of his model of the house late last night - its amazing and I'm so proud of him for having the determination to see the project through to the end. He sure convinced me that he can be pretty nifty with a kraft knife - I better keep him away from my stash!

Whilst Hubs was busy cutting and sticking I secured a spot on the sofa and started reading Of Mice and Men - Bobs has a huge assignment for his GCSE's and I thought I'd better refresh my memory in order to help him out with revision, especially as its been 23 years since I read the book - I remember having to do the same assignment when I was at school!

For me, there is nothing nicer than settling down on the sofa with a good book - to me that is bliss.

Have a good day.

Rainy Days

The heavens have opened here today and its rained non stop for the past 6 hours.
With overhead skies looking far too grey and gloomy to venture outside, Ive stayed inside playing "wifey" to Hubs!
I have fed him cups of tea on demand, whilst he works on a papercrafting project of his own!

It amazes me just how patient he is. He has spent all morning measuring and cutting pieces of paper, in order to build a "to scale" model of our home....

all this just to persuade the local planning office to give us the go ahead for the extension we want to build - *sigh* I hate red tape!

This is just the template - he has to build the real thing all over again and has his eye on my stash of Bazzill to do the job!

I'll leave you with a sneak of my Pencil Lines LO for this coming Sunday.

Have fun.

Colour Focus

If you have 5 minutes to spare, then take a look over on the Banana Frog blog,
where you will find an array of amazing projects created by some of my "Froggy" team mates - all inspired by this months Colour Focus.

It seems ages ago since I made my project - which is a Memory Book for 2009.

I used a real mish mash of Banana Frog stamps to decorate the cover of the album - which holds enough pages inside for me to create a double page entry for each month of 2009.

I've started using index card sized images of the "best bits" from each month and plan to add loads of tickets/receipts from days out etc and lots of journaling too.

Have fun and thanks for dropping by.

Trundle.

Our weekend trundled along in a laid back sorta way.
We didn't do much - we pottered here...we messed about there and generally wasted time just being.
Whilst the guys zoomed off on their bikes, I stayed home and played for a little while with some of the new Bungle Jungle papers from Sassafras.

I made a canvas for a little friend of mine to hang on their bedroom wall and then put together my Pencil Lines layout.

Hubs and I spent a good couple of hours walking on the beach on Sunday in hope that we would walk of a few pounds - we kinda over indulged on lunch!

This is my favourite time of the year - the sun was shining, with the skies over head so blue and the beach, deserted :D

Have fun.

Sassafras Love

Yesterday the guys headed off to Mount Hawke indoor skate and BMX park and as much as I would have loved to have joined them, I really needed to stay home, as we were expecting a special delivery for someones upcoming birthday and I needed to be here to sign for it!
Well that was my excuse and it had nothing at all to do with the fact that I had box of new Sassafras to play with!

Within 5 minutes of being home J fell fast asleep on the sofa - he was totally exhausted and feeling sore after taking a tumble on one of 8ft the drop ins.

As the guys were out for the day and I was home alone, I decided to crank up the music and give the house a really good spring clean - it certainly needed it!
Feeling pleased with myself that I had managed to de-cobweb in one day - I settled down to an evening of scrapping using the bright and funky papers from Sassafras Bungle Jungle collection.

If you wanna have a go at winning yourself some of the new Sassafras goodies then take a trip over the the Sassafras blog right now :D

The guys are off out to the MotoX track today and I'm going along to watch for a while before heading back home to purge my wardrobe!
If I haven't worn it in the last 18 months - its going!

Have a great weekend.

Boys, boys, boys

I met up with my friend Sam and her boys for a lark around in the park today.

We spent a couple of hours chatting whilst the guys ran around and enjoyed the fresh air and I couldnt resist snapping a few photos of the lads.

When I arrived home there was a box of goodies from Sassafras waiting for me :D
The new lines are sooo wonderful in real life and I loves them lots.

Have fun and thanks for dropping by.

6/6

Despite having to spend most of yesterday preventing the guys from battering each other black and blue, I managed to scrap two pages and made a start on a third.

The guys have always gotten on really well - they used to have the odd spat which blew over very quickly - but I dunno, just lately they are at each other all of the time and its getting very tiring.
If Bobs is watching TV - J will turn the channel over - cushions get thrown - voices begin to raise and then fisty cuffs begin.
J was playing on his Xbox yesterday and Bobs decided to flick the switch and cut the power - so I then spent twenty minutes preventing J from beating his big bro to a pulp.....Im thinking that maybe I need to invest in some shin pads or a set of boxing gloves for myself!

Do you think I should look for a set of triple sixes hidden amongst their over grown locks??

Maybe its and age thing - I dunno? They both have developed a liking for winding each other (and sometimes me) up - testosterone levels are certainly overflowing at the moment and I guess they both wanna be top dog - it really does feel like a battle of the wills is taking place between them - but as I told them yesterday there will only be one winner, and that winner is ME!

The Xbox and TV is banned for today - instead we are going for a nice long walk on the beach - I'm seriously hoping that it burns of some of their excess energy and maybe calms them down a little.....I can live in hope eh?

Yesterday I was challenged by Jackie to go pick the 6th folder in "my pictures" folder and then post the 6th picture.......funnily enough it happens to be a photograph of the guys.

It was taken in July 1998 - when they thought that what their Mom said was word!!

I need to pick two others to take the challenge - so I'm gonna pick -
Bethany
and
Pam
but if you wanna play along too, then feel free to join in and link back your photos here so I can come take a peep.

Have a good day and thanks for passing by.

Stitches

After exchanging Valentines gifts on Saturday morning Hubs and the guys set out for a session playing on their bikes, whilst I finished off packing my overnight bag for my trip up to the Midlands.
The guys all arrived back at base very dirty, but happy, and waved me off as I started out on my journey "home".

It was good to spend some time with my Mom - she cooked my favourite meal which we ate whilst putting the worlds to rights.
I was up bright and early on Sunday morning as I was heading over to the NEC to spend the day walking the aisles of the show with Anna.

The show was a lot smaller than in previous years - a sure sign of the times I fear :(
There were some great textile booths and I came away brimming with ideas for a variety of uni assignments I have lined up for the coming year.
It was good to meet up with Tami and Adam from Prima who were there with a selection of the new fabric blooms....which I adore and cant wait to play with.

My fav from the show had to be the new Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts - which are so much nicer in real life. I loved the die cut sheets - so quirky and great for whimsical pages. The background sheets kinda remind of the Kraft range from Scenic Route....which is one of my all time loves.

I also loved the Hello Kitty range from Sizzix - really girlie and fun.

As we were leaving the show I had to stop off and have a little play with the new Ranger Fillable Pens as these are wonderful to use on Prima's Transparency Paintables. Sir Tim was his usual jovial self and I managed to snap a piccie of Anna and him together as he thinks the Bad Girls have serious talent :D

As I was making my way home from the show last night, this weeks Pencil Lines Sketch went live.

I used all Scenic Route product to create my page - which was one of my Valentine gifts for Hubs
The guys are on half term from school this week which means I have the pleasure of taking on the role of chief referee!

Have fun and thanks for dropping by.

Five Faves

Its Friday. which means its time for my Five Faves of the week.

1. I adore this Dorothy cushion from Laura Ashley and took inspiration from it, to begin creating a HUGE project that I have been working on since Christmas - it has certainly turned into a labour of love and is taking a lot longer than I anticipated to complete - but it will get finished one day!

2. Scenic Route has always been one of my firm faves - and I'm really liking the new Garden Grove collection.

3. Kelly Rae Roberts book, Taking Flight, is a must if you like experimenting and getting a little messy! I received my copy as gift from Hubs for Christmas and I cant put it down......its covered in Gesso, paint and Ink!

4. I love this photograph of my scrapping pal Kate and her man.....I cant wait to scrap it :D

5. Prima's printed burlap - yummmmmmmy :D

So what are your five faves this week?

This week has flown by as Ive been busy with stuff going on at home - scrapping has happened - but not as much as I would have liked.

My very first project for Banana Frog went live over on the Banana Frog Blog this week - you can see it here if you wanna take a peep.
Ive been playing with the new BF stamps and I loves them - maybe they should have made my top 5 this week too!

I'm off up North tomorrow - leaving the guys to enjoy a little male bonding time whist I go and spend the night visiting with my Mom. :D

I'll leave you with a sneak of my Pencil Lines layout for this Sunday.
Happy Valentines Day.
Have a great weekend and thanks for popping by.

Chilled

We have had a pretty chilled out weekend -

Croppin on Saturday where I taught a couple of classes.

I loved the vibrancy of Kate's finished page

and the subtle colours used by Veronica really suited the photograph of her beautiful daughter on her wedding day.

I arrived home to more of the white stuff which meant Saturday night was spent cuddled up on the sofa watching a couple of DVDs with the guys, as it was far too cold and chilly to do anything else!

Sunday really didn't see us doing very much at all - the highlight of the day was when we ventured out to the local pub for a bite to eat - a very lazy weekend indeed.
On the way home I had to stop the car and take a photograph of the sky, as the sun rays hitting across the sea at Saunton Sands were amazing to see.

Pencil Lines sketch 121 went live last night and here is my take on the sketch.
Using a combination of Heidi Grace flocked page addons to layer up behind the photographs was a great way to use up left over stash.

With the snow now well and truly departed, the guys were able to go back to school this morning - so I'm home alone and geared up for a day of scrapping :D

Have fun.

Five Favs Friday

Its Friday - so that means its time for me to get back on track and join Ms Dena in sharing my Five fav's on this fine Friday morning.

1. i {heart}Fridays - Hubs is usually home - he works extra hours Mon - Thurs so that he can take the day off - once we have packed the guys on to the school bus then the day is ours to do with as we please.
Fridays is our day - time spent together as a couple - not as Mom and Dad....just as us.
Having a child with special needs is far from easy and both Hubs and I have seen so many of our friends (who share similar family difficulties), hit really rocky patches in their relationships because they never have time for one another.....we make sure, we make the time.

2. Jason Mraz - Beautiful Mess

This song is just the best - the lyrics are amazing and its kinda made me smile a few times this past week :D

3. Peter Hannan's drawings and cartoons make me laugh....I love Joe Hemmingmouse and his "t*i*c" outlook on life!
4. I love the cushions on the Hambly blog. I gotta have a go at making one for myself!

5. Jamie Olivers Tomato Soup - its delicious! Perfect for snowy days and had the guys back for seconds....and Hubs for thirds!

2 carrots/ 2 sticks of celery/2 onions/2 cloves of garlic/olive oil/2 organic vegetable stock cubes diluted in 1.5 litres of boiling water/2 tins of plum tomatoes/ 6 fresh unpeeled tomatoes/ basil/sea salt & black pepper

Peel - Chop - Fry - Mix - Add stock/tin toms and fresh whole toms - Boil - Blend - Enjoy!

Have a great weekend - Im off to my crop tomorrow and then plan a weekend of doing very little but chillaxing - how about you?

Thanks for popping by.

It's all about.....

Have you seen the new collection of stamps from Banana Frog???
They are simply divine and are called "It's all about...." - I love the scalloped edge journaling blocks and the arrows....er and the Flourishes too - in fact I love them all!
You can see the entire collection right here.

I have some of the stamps making their way to me but the additional snowfall we experienced last night meant that Mr Postie hasn't been able to get to the village - grrrrrr!

I used Banana Frog stamps to create part of the title for this LO, which is one of the classes I taught at Scrap Angels a couple of weekends ago. The winners of my class draws can be seen here.
The brightly coloured papers from Prima's Little Guy collection were perfect to use to create a paper tube border.
With the leftover page accents, scraps of paper and a selection of Banana Frog stamps we also made this dinky little maze book.
The maze book has plenty of spaces to hide tags, perfect for journaling or additional photographs.
Whilst watching TV last night I made this felt/fabric owl as a little gift for my friends daughter.

I hope she likes it :D

and finally......

Did you see this?
Happy Dances.
