This Old House

Pencil Lines sketch #119 went live last night - I loved the sketch which was designed by this weeks guest, Sabrina Donnet. I thought it would be a good sketch to use to create a mini book - so thats what I did :D
Using PP's from Sassafras, Making Memories Tiny Alphas, Thickers and a Grungeboard Birdie.

After seeing Wendy Rago's project on the P52 blog where she had used a nail, I was so inspired to make something using a nail too!

The nail was pulled from one of the beams in my sitting room - its old - not as old as the house but probably pushing 200 years - Hubs wasn't so impressed that I pulled it for "another one of my crafty mess making things" but when he saw how I'd used it, he chilled and was fine :D

Over the years we have been collating info about the house and now we have a place to store the dog eared sepia toned photo's and some of the stories that this old house has to tell.

Whilst driving home from Cornwall on Saturday night all I could think about was how I couldn't wait to escape the dark and dismal night and head into the warmth of home. The fire was lit, Hubs had cooked and as soon as I had eaten I kicked off my shoes and bagged my spot on the sofa - and promptly fell fast asleep!

My classes were great fun to teach because the Cornish ladies are such fun to be around. We laughed, giggled, ate lots of yummy cake and scrapped the day away.

Rebecca had stocked up the Scrap Angels shop with some very lovely "lovelies" indeed - so my purse is a little lighter than it should be...opps :S

Saturday morning I taught a Prima Transparency and Paintables class using Say it in Crystal Swirls, BAB Gems, Whispered Words alphas, Journaling blocks and Frilles Blooms - all of which are my current my fav's from Prima - well they were until I spied all of the lushness that's being released this week.

We put together two projects -

a layout

and a canvas.
I'll share the other classes tomorrow - the clocks ticking and I need to dash!

Thanks for dropping by.

Happy happy happy :D :D :D

Swoons

Even more delish-i-ness has been revealed over on the Sassafras blog - go take a peep here.

I'm lovin the felties - how cute will they look on LO's, mini's and cards - I'm thinking of the hours (and sore fingers) I will save, all thanks to Sassafras and their to die for felties :D

Its great to see some Sassafras numerals too - very retro.

This menagerie of chipboard will be perfect for all those wildlife and trips to the zoo photos I have piled up waiting to scrap - when the guys were small we would meet up with the family at Bristol Zoo for the day as its half way between here and "home". I have so many photos of the guys as toddlers at the zoo, but haven't ever found PP's to scrap them with - until now!

These retro linen tags are just waiting to be turned into a mini book don't you think?

The waiting is going to be a killer - I'm so impatient as I cant wait for my box of Sassafras delights to arrive - I wanna scrap with them all NOW!
Yesterday was spent scrapping as I had to stay home for UPS to come collect a package which is whisking its way over to Anaheim for CHA!
I cant believe that this time last year we were all there soaking up the sunshine in California and enjoying the delights on offer in the Cheesecake Factory - sigh.

Its so bloomin cold here today - but at least we have blue skies and its not raining - YET!

Stinkin Cute

Be still my beating heart - just look at these loverlies -

How stinking cute are they - *swoons*
I love the linen cardstock journaling tags - they would make a great mini book.
There is lots more to see over on the Sassafras blog - so go check them out right here.

I used Sassafras PP's to create my LO for this weeks Pencil Lines sketch.
The photographs are of my little pal Max and were taken whilst we were away for a long weekend last summer - ummm - did we really have a summer last year????

Nothing exciting to report from the weekend - it was pretty lazy and quiet until the guys cranked up their Xbox and treated us to a little session of "Lips" - XFactor style!

ABC by the Jacksons seems to be their fav song - I think Hubs and I need to invest in a couple of pairs ear defenders because, to be honest, neither boys are vocally gifted!
After seeing to the mundane things - food shopping/housework etc - I spent the rest of my time wrapping up my Scrap Angels classes for next weekend and working on a couple of projects that I have in the pipeline - which I plan to finish off today.

Have you seen this new and inspiring blog?
It looks like its going to be great fun and will certainly get you scrapping out of your comfort zone - I know I'll be tagging along for the ride - how about you?

Have fun and thanks for popping by.

Bugs & Bones

I have both boys home with me at the moment.
J's toe is slowly on the mend and isn't as painful now. He started to bear a little weight on it today - which is good and means he will be back to school on Monday. Poor Bobs has gone down with a really horrid bout of the fluey virus which is doing the rounds in his class at school.....it appears most of the kids in his tutor group are off ill!

So with the guys here Ive been scrapping in the living room whilst both are vegged out on the sofa watching DVD's.

Mr Postie delivered a parcel this morning which contained a selection of stamps from Banana Frog :D Ive been playing with them this afternoon and am almost done :D

I also received a parcel from Prima which contained all of yummies I need to complete a couple of classes that I will be teaching next weekend at Scrap Angels. I just love going down to Cornwall and hanging out at Rebecca store - its probably my nearest decent scrapbooking store!

As I haven't any of my recent scrapbooking projects available to share, here is my Pencil Lines LO from sketch 116 - (I had forgotten to upload it to my blog)

I used papers from K&Co's Lotus Faded China range, embellies from CratesPrudence Collection and journalling blocks from Elles Studio.

The photograph was taken on Christmas day - which was a happy day in this house for so many different reasons.

The guys need some TLC so I had better go.
Have fun and thanks for dropping by.

Opps!

Real life has been rather hectic here over the past week or so.
We have not stopped what with one thing and another.
Bobs had a great birthday and enjoyed his pressies and cake!

Ive been scrapping a little - nothing to share at the moment as Ive been working on classes for upcoming events.
Ive been cropping with the lovelies at my local crop and had a great day catching up with everyone after the Christmas break.
Ive been dieting - and have lost 7lbs :D
Ive been painting, cleaning and cooking lots.

Hubs and I started our New Years resolution to go out once a week to the local - we had become too wrapped up in staying home and kinda missed out on seeing friends - so we have decided that we will go out on Saturday nights.....leaving Bobs in "charge"!

So Saturday was our first night out and by 10pm we got a call from home asking how long we would be because J had stubbed his toe on the staircase and it hurt.........no wonder it hurt - a trip to A&E revealed he had in fact broken his big toe in two places :(
So Ive been playing nursey maid to my little man and helping him master his use of crutches.

Over the past week Ive been thinking lots about family and stuff - we have some HUGE and exciting changes taking place this year - things we really need to focus on....so after a lot of talking, heartache, tears shed and a degree of uncertainty I have decided to resign from the Bad Girls team.
I have agonised long and hard over making this decision as I loved working with all of my fellow teamies over the past 18 months and chatting with the rest of the Bad Girl members - I will miss being part of the team more than they will ever know - I'm really sad to leave but know that its the right thing for me to do.
I'm going to miss working with the kits - they always pushed me out of my comfort zone, way more than any other kit Ive worked with - I will be ever grateful to Wendy for offering me the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented girls in the scrapbooking industry - Ive formed great friendships through my time as a Bad Girl - friendships that have gone past that of scrapbook acquaintances - these are friendships that I know will last the test of time.

Once a Bad Girl - always a Bad Girl eh?

Happy Birthday!

We've watched with pride as he has grown and have seen him go through so many phases. Now he is becoming all "grown up" and developing into a young man we are sooo very proud of.....but he will always be our little boy - with his blue eyes, big smile and goofy ways.....Happy Birthday Bobs - we loves you.x.x.x.x.x

Our New Year celebrations ended up being a lot quieter than originally planned, due to the fact that the dreaded lurgy is back again and most of the family were suffering with coughs, sniffles and generally feeling yack! New Years day was spent in the snow - not the best place to be when you are burning up with a temp of 102! I stayed away from the white stuff and drank myself silly on blackcurrant Lemsip!
With us all feeling worse on the 2nd, Hubs decided that the best place for us to be was back home - so we loaded up the car and cut short our visit by one day in favour of heading home to the comfort of our own beds - there is nothing nicer when you are feeling so ill!
J was upset to leave Grandmas because he had been looking forward to his trip to Frankie and Benny's as he loves their ribs - Bobs was relieved we cancelled the table as he was dreading the humiliation of having to blow out the candles on his cake, whilst Sir Cliff sang "Congratulations" - its so not a cool thing to have happen when you are a teen! LOL!

We are all feeling better now - thank goodness because we have a boys birthday to celebrate.....now where did I hide that Cliff CD??????

Thanks for popping by.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you and yours from me and mine :D

My word for the year during 2008 was Persevere.

Perseverance has been the one thing that has gotten me through the past 12 months and without it I think I may have just thrown the towel in and given up on ever securing J the education he deserves.

By Persevering I did it and now J is finally settled in school and for the first time ever he is actually enjoying school life.

I gave a lot of thought to my word for 2009 and finally decided that my word would be -

I have a few things on "my life" list that I want to sort out - I want to tidy up a few loose ends and know that at least I tried to make the best of my lot.

So whats your word for the coming year?
