We got chatting about birthday wishes and he said if he could have one thing, more than anything else, it would be for it to snow on his birthday - because a snowy day means he doesn't have to go to school and that would mean he could stay home all day on his special day....."because going to school on your birthday really, really sucks, BIG TIME".
I told him that it was highly unlikely that there would be any snow, and that as much as he thinks Hubs and I can do anything - we can't control the weather!
I packed him off to bed at 9.30pm. As he climbed the stairs, he was chuntering on about how come there is snow all the time in other countries, but we don't ever get any....."its just soooooo tight and soooooo unfair and really, really sucks" - teenagedom is beginning me thinks!
At 10pm, totally unexpected and with no prior warning from the evening weather report, the heavens opened and we had snow - LOTS of snow - LOTS and LOTS of snow!
It was coming down thick and fast, with over 5 inches falling in less than an hour. By midnight it was almost 8 inches deep in places.

Hubs let the hounds out in the garden to have a run around and J must have heard them because he was dressed and downstairs faster than lightening!

We ran around - threw a few snowballs and generally looked like crazy fools playing in the snow in the dark!

After a warm shower, I packed J back off to bed - he was so hoping that the snow would be bad enough this morning that he would miss school today - sadly it wasn't - the snow turned to sleet and was then followed by rain - so most of the snow was washed away by the time we woke :(

This morning, as he was leaving the house for school he asked Hubs how he did it?
Did what? asked Hubs.
"Make it snow for me", says J.
Bless.....if only we could make all of his wishes come true.
Thanks for popping by.

Super lovely chatting for hours yesterday :)
I love that story, and don't you just love them, I wish that innocence would never go.
Oh wow - that is just so adorable, and definitely a story to be scrapped.
What a great kid !
That made me want to cry, isn't the unconditional love between parents and children just so special?!?
