Fingers Crossed

The guys headed off at silly o'clock this morning to go and do their thing down in Plymouth.
Today is the day they are representing our local area in the National Youth games....their bikes were primed and ready to go last night. A local bike store approached us and asked if they could sponsored both boys, so they have shiny new head gear to wear as well as a host of other biking goodies.....my fingers and toes are firmly crossed that they both do OK.
Hubs is armed with the camcorder and camera and is under strict instruction not to come home unless he has plenty of piccies for me to scrap ;)

I feel like a bad Mommy because I couldn't make it down to watch the guys - the date clashed with something rather important that I have to do today.....something that potentially could change the rest of my life!
I've been swotting up really hard over the past couple of months in preparation of today, and in just over an hours time I will be sitting an exam - blimmey - I thought I'd left all this school malarkey behind me - but I have made a decision to do something that I have always secretly dreamed of doing - if there is one thing I have learnt from life, it is that dreams don't just happen - we all have the capability of making our own dreams come true.....its just a case of getting yourself geared up and going for it!
I'm soooo nervous but no matter what happens I am determined to see this through.

Once the ordeal of sitting in the exam room is over I'm heading off to spend the evening at a rather posh "do" - I'm talking people arriving by helicopter in posh frocks and gowns - no such finery for me tho - I'm there by request to do a little favour for a friend :)

I've been a busy Scrapper and have buried myself in pretty papers all week........

just a few sneaks to wet your appetite as Bad Girls 1 year anniversary kit goes live on the 30th - this is one kit you really do not want to miss out on....its totally amazing with such an eclectic mix of papers all geared up to to inspire and set your creative juices flowing.

*HOT OF THE PRESS NEWS FLASH*
The anniversary kit see's the launch of BAD GIRLS STAMPS!
Just look at this baby - isnt it divine :D

Talking of Bad Girls - to celebrate the first anniversary of the sites existence there is a BIRTHDAY BASH beginning real soon - with loads of FREE classes, challenges and a host of FUN and GAMES all lined up to get that old mojo fired up and running on all cylinders.....check it out - its going to be a month long PARTY you wont want to miss.

I've scrapped a few other projects too which will be going live in the not so distant future....

and I was really honoured to be invited to Guest this week over here using June's Bad Girls kit - if you fancy winning yourself a FREE 3 month sub to Bad Girls then check out the details here.....there are just a few days left to get your entries in.

My tummy is is knots - I hope the guys are doing well - off to the classroom for me - have fun - be happy - smile

Gold Coast '08

Sand, Surf, Skate, Smiles, Superb Sounds = Beautiful Days.
A little more sunshine would have been nice, but high winds and lots of rain didn't stop the party atmosphere at the 10th Gold Coast Ocean Fest.

The Guys spent 99% of their time on the Suso Skate Ramp, which put lots of smiles on their faces. Skating alongside the Pro's during the Demo session really made their day :)

The guys kept themselves busy on the ramps so Hubs and I chilled out in the arena field listening to the tunes and sampling some of the local ciders on offer *hic*
The festival was by far one of the best thanks to the hard work put in by the the guys behind the scenes, who work all year round to secure some of the best bands on the circuit to come play in our sleepy little backwater village.

Door count was in excess of 8,000 which meant the "mosh pit" got a tad scary at times - although both Bobs and J weren't put off and they managed to stomp the night away to some of the best SKA tunes from The Liquidators - the guys wanted to know how come we knew all of the words to the songs they played - ermmm well thats because we have the original Trogan vinyl records - "what's a record"? asks J....now I really do feel my age!*sigh*

The Friday night sounds really kicked off when The Imperial Vipers hit the stage - Im not a fan of their music at all BUT the guitarist had my eyes glued to the stage!

Donovan Frankenriter was amazing and got the Saturday night crowd bopping - the highlight of the night for me was when the organisers son joined Donovan on centre stage to play acoustic alongside him.....my Guys were so impressed to see their buddie up on stage doing his thang.

The weekend was a blast - although cold at times, we all had an amazing time and have already ticked off 2009's dates in the dairy.
I arrived home late last night to discover July's Bad Girls Kit has arrived - it's so lush and filled with so many wonderful goodies that I can't wait to play - guess what I'll be doing today whilst I wait for the washing machine to rid our clothes of mud :)
Have Fun.

So Life Begins..........

Happy Birthday to ME!
Breakfast in bed followed by the opening of the pressies.
Grrr! Who showed Hubs how to use my camera???
I don't do early mornings!

The guys were packed off to school and then Hubs whisked me off to Bristol for a days retail therapy.....doing a quick stop off in Taunton so I could snatch a few minutes and a hug from one of my closest pals....thanks for the "fizz", Titch - the head is sure is sore today ;)xxxxx

Hubs and I wondered aimlessly around the city as I wasn't sure what I wanted to do - him knowing me well enough asked - did I want to go to IKEA! OMGoodness that was a silly question - IKEA it was and I grabbed more storage for my revamped scraproom plus we managed to find a new day bed sofa we have been looking for to complete the look in our dining room :)
Shopping done we headed home to jump in the shower before we met up with friends for a slap up Chinese Banquet.

Linz and Tux are our oldest buddies and I love this gal like she was my sister.

Hubs and the guys gave me a gift of some silver Troll beads to begin a new bracelet which will commemorate my 40th year of life.....yeah one of those sad scrapper's who collects Trolls - but hey who cares - I LOVE them ;)

Opting not to go down the Troll bead route - despite collecting them herself - Linz and Tux decided to treat me to something a little more unusual....a Nomination Composable bracelet - which I LOVE!
I adore my cards from Tom and Max.......they are both artists in the making :)

Ummmm - it took a couple of puffs to blow out all of those candles!

So life in my 40's begins - my fortune cookie said
"You will live long and enjoy happy times together with the love of your life"
I sure hope so because I adore my man more than he will ever know.
Over at ScrapDreamie the girls set a challenge using one of my LO's I created with the super delish Dude papers from Prima.

Check out the details here and if you link your entry back here I will pick a winner to receive a lil RAK from me. :)
We are off to party in a field for the weekend....in the rain - wellies at the ready!
The Guys and I are super excited to be seeing Donovan Frankenreiter playing live in our little sleepy village - I just hope he brings some of the Cali sunshine with him!
Have fun.

Almost there!

A little catch up is needed.

Saturday was such a wonderful day....one I certainly wont forget in a long time :)

I got to spend time with some of my local scrap pals and we scrapped whilst indulging in a slice or two of yummy cake.
Whilst I was scrapping Hubs had taken the guys to a local BMX event - I cant begin to record just how proud I am of my guys.
They had both been selected to try out for the local BMX team which is to represent our area in the National Youth Sports Competition - both boys were really nervous and no matter how much I tried to reassure them over breakfast that they would be fine, I knew they thought otherwise.
This was a huge thing for them - especially as its Bobs dream to ride for the UK's BMX team in the 2012 Olympics.....but doesn't every sports minded boy have that dream...that maybe one day they could be good enough to represent their country???

Anyways by 2pm Bobs came and paid me a visit and shared the good news that both he and his little bro had made it to the team :):):)

Hubs and I are so OTT proud of them both - they are our hero's and, no matter how things pan out for them, no one can take away that moment when Bobs looked at me with such jubilation upon his face as he said "We are in" :):):)
Saturday evening turned into somewhat of a celebration and boy didn't I know about it on Sunday morning! The alarm bell went off far to early but I got myself organised after a quick Fathers Day early morning trek to the beach followed by a beach breakfast, I hit the motorway and headed off to Watford.
The hotel was divine with gardens to match.

Sharing giggles and laughter with some of my pals from ScrapDreamie was real fun.....so much so that going to bed was proving to be rather difficult and we finally hit bed at 3am!!

Monday came and it was great to put names to faces as I got to meet quite a few of the lovely ladies who work so very hard to keep the scrapping nation topped up with supplies.

Lance Anderson aka Mr Pickle was a complete star and shared with us all a couple of wonderful classes.

Ive yet to open my class kits as I was otherwise occupied being a busy bee finalising details of something very special and really exciting - watch this space ;)

The drive home was rather fun too!
Ummmm this petrol strike that has hit the UK really had my heart beating fast....every station I called at was fueless!
With me having 180 miles to go and the petrol light flashing I was staring to panic that I'd end up being stranded on the hard shoulder of the M5 for days on end!
Thankfully I managed to make it to a service station that had just one pump in action - hooray for Super Ultra Unleaded - boo hoo to the £1.47p per litre I had to pay - although that's far cheaper than the £1.99p it has been selling for in our neck of the woods!!
Today has been a mumble jumble day - padding around catching up on the dreaded housework and prepping for tomorrow....ummmmm its almost here now - the big 4 - 0!!

Yikes!!
Less than 1 hour to go and in J's words I will be "halfway to dead!" - bless him - he really knows how to make me feel good :)
Hope your weekend was a good one too.

Hey! Dude!

I'm still having a thing with Dude!

With my scraps I made a card and wallet for Hubs Fathers day gift from me - he needs a new bike helmet and as I havent a clue when it comes to selecting a bike lid - I opted for a voucher for the local Kwaka Store - he can chose his own then and I wont make a complete fool of myself by purchasing the wrong design - been there and done that before!

All scraps of Dude are now gone so I need to turn my attention to a pile of scrumdidiliumptious KI product which arrived from the Genie :D
I've a busy, but exciting, weekend ahead of me - scrapping and teaching on Saturday and then out to eat with some friends on Saturday night - early start on Sunday as I whizz myself off to spend the night in the delightful company of some of my Scrappin buddies at this beautiful hotel.

Have Fun.

Oh! Dude!

Im really loving the Dude papers from Prima at the moment - I think they are fast taking over my love of the Wonder Years collection by Daisy D's!

As I am teaching on Saturday I have spent today finalising the last of my three classes - all of which are using the Dude papers and embellishments.

With it being Fathers Day on Sunday I need to settle myself down tonight to make Hubs a card - the guys have been organised and have already made theirs - Im going to use up the last of the scraps I have from the Dude papers - I love to use every last snippet of paper if I can because I hate waste!

Happy days.

Bad Boyz!

Mr Postie arrived yesterday with a parcel returning one of the guys favourite mini books which had been lurking at Scrapbook Inspirations HQ for a while now.....I made the book the latter part of last summer and was fortunate enough to get it spotted and picked up for publication in the mag - its definitely one for the boys!

With the sun shining all day long I scrapped outside in the garden and managed to tick off a few of the "to do's" from my list of scrapping commitments for June.....

I happy when my list is ticked off and can relax up a little before July's Bad Girls kit lands on my doorstep - Ive seen the contents of the kit and Wendy really has put together the most amazing collaboration of scrumptious products to celebrate Bad Girls 1st Birthday.....yummy Chatterbox and other delights to get the old creative juices working over time.....my fingers are itching to make a start - in the meantime I'll keep myself busy playing with some delicious Prima that's waiting for me to go colouring crazy!

Be Happy :D
