Whilst at Scrap Angels Christmas Workshop I came up with an idea to make a little "post it note" book using the scraps left over from the kit.
They take next to no time to create - which meant I was able to find 10 minutes during the workshop to squeeze this project in as a class "extra" for the ladies - and they LOVED it.
I think they make really cute stocking fillers or maybe a gift for your children's teachers?
The post it notes I used measured 3x3 inches square - I cut a piece of cardboard 31/2 x 7 inches - cardboard from a cereal packet works fine :)
Score the cardboard at 31/4 and 33/4 inches - and fold using a bone folder.
Cut two pieces from a sheet of adhesive backed fabric card stock - the cover measures 5 x 81/2 inches and the inside cover measures 31/4 x 63/4 inches - I used Love Elsie, Noel fabric paper.
Cover the front of the cardboard with the piece of 5 x 81/2 inch fabric paper - diagonally snip away the corners as this helps to create neater folds.
Fold fabric around card stock making sure all edges are firmly adhered.
Stitch a button to the front cover and adhere a ribbon loop to the inside of the back cover - make sure it will loop over the button to form a fastener for your book.
Adhere the 31/4 x 63/4 piece of fabric card stock to the inside of the cover.
Stitch around the book using a wavy stitch.
Using a strong adhesive (I used my ATG) adhere the post it note to the back cover.
Voila! Your post it note book is now complete :D
How quick and simple was that? I just love quick projects like this :D
I have made lots of these little beauties to give as gifts to my female friends and family members - they are just the perfect size to slip into your handbag.
They work just as well using patterned papers -
I made this one using scraps of Basic Grey with some delish ribbon I picked up at a flea market.
Why not try one for yourself? - if you do - please share so I can see :D
Have a great day.
