A mixed bag of waffle!

I'm back!........not that Ive been away!

Bloomin BT decided to do a lil tidy up of the overgrown trees in our area and cut through one of the lines that carries all internet connection to our tiny little village!
No connection for what feels like forever left me feeling like I had had my right arm surgically removed!
I was cut off from the outside world and missed my daily natters on MSN to my cyber pals from across the globe :(

Anyways I'm back online now so can catch up with the gazillion posts Ive missed on my favourite lurkin spots!

The upside of having no connection meant that I had plenty of time to catch up on a few jobs that needed to be done - I now have a super ultra tidy scraproom, the kitchen is gleaming and every single room in the house has been de-cluttered in preparation of my extra special visitors this weekend:D

Anna and Sarah are heading down this way today and we will be hitting the nightlife of the village tonight! LOL! The words nightlife and our village don't really go together! We are in the sleepy backwaters here!
Tomorrow is the Christmas Workshop and for once I'm so ultra organised - its amazing what having no net connection can do!

So what have I been doing apart from cleaning and stash sorting?

Umm well I played with Decembers kit from Bad Girls and can honestly say I love this kit more than any other kit I have ever had from anywhere....its just got to be my all time favourite!
I loved it sooo much that I couldn't stop creating with it!
Ive managed 4 LO's and one altered projec....the DT gallery goes live tomorrow but I'll share a few sneaky peeps today :)

Bobs is off to France on Monday for a week - *sigh* - I will miss him and would love a little weeks break away too!
No worries tho - whilst he is having fun scoffing croissants I'll be making a start on putting up our Crimbo Decs.......tis the season to be merry from tomorrow :) :):)
This is my favourite time of the year - I love the log fires, the twinkle twhoo's and I never tire of hearing Kirsty McColl and Shane McGowan singing Fairytale of New York.....Midnight Mass is a must for us as a family too and this year will be extra special because it will be the first time we will be there together as a family - our Church likes the children to be aged 11 or over to attend!

So theres my mixed bag of catch up - Ive a few more things to share but they can wait til another day ;)

I better go and start getting myself ready for my guests arrival ----- yeeee haaaaa I am soooo excited :D

Have FUN - ENJOY your weekend - be HAPPY.

This weeks Pencil Lines Guest designer is none other than the original Bad Girl herself - Wendy Rago! Not only was Wendy the guest she also provided all of the Pencil Lines DT with one of her scrummilicious kits to play with!!

I feel so honoured that I am able to serve on both the Bad Girls and Pencil Lines DT's - I get to be creative using fantastic kits and superb sketches - what more could a girl ask for eh?

Creating for Christmas

The Bad Girls Christmas Workshop weekend was such fun - I managed to get some of the projects done and dusted and have a few more in various stages of completion....the classes are staying live until Friday so there's still time to play along and get your projects uploaded before the deadline.
Hubs and the guys have gone out for the evening so I plan to chuck a few logs on the fire and settle down to some quality crafting time - ummmm I may even go the whole hog and have a glass or two of Baileys yum! :)

Here's what I have created so far

Tinasue's Tree

Bonnie's Journal

Wendy's Shadowbox

I love em all and can certainly feel the festive fizz of excitement running through my veins - I love Christmas.

Ive just picked a random number and matched it to the comments left - the winner of my Bad Girls RAK is this lucky lady - email me your address and I'll get a baggie of goodies off to you real soon.

Have fun.

Buttons!

I've always loved buttons and have become really obsessed with visiting the little button stall in my local pannier market - I stand at the stall just like a child does in a sweetie shop!
There I am with my little pot in my hand - picking and choosing which buttons I will be taking home - I find it so exciting - must mean I'm sad eh?

I used lots of buttons and brads on my Pencil Lines LO this week - you don't want to know how long it took for me to sew each one in place - I guess I could have cheated and threaded and adhered - but that's not my style - I'm anal about things being done properly!
I guess that comes from my Dad's old saying - "if a jobs worth doing, then do it well or not at all"

PP's and accents are Scenic Route, buttons and brads are mixed assortment from my stash box - piccie is of J taken last summer whilst chilling out in my Sisters garden.

The workshop over on Bad Girls has passed its half way mark - Ive been sooo busy scrappin the classes that its too dark now to take any piccies - I will share tomorrow as well as name the winner of my RAK!

Have fun - I'm heading back to my scraproom to go play!

Creating + Sharing = One Happy Scrapper

Its been slightly bonkers here for the past couple of days hence me not posting!
Bobs isn't feeling so good and J has injured his arm - so Ive been nurse maid to my guys.

Ive not only been tending to my brood - Ive been busy shining my sink and scrappin too!

A month or so ago Caroline from Bubbly Funk asked me to be a Guest Designer for her - of course I jumped at the opportunity to play with some of her luscious chipboard - who wouldn't????

So Caroline very kindly sent me some stash to play with, and play I did :D

All of the products to create these projects are available to buy from Bubbly Funk in this months Kit :D

These projects can be seen in more detail over at Bubbly Funk with instructions on how to make the acrylic book and matchbox cabinet.....which also happens to be my class for The Bad Girls Christmas Workshop!

The Workshop classes are currently underway and in full swing over on the Bad Girls message board - you must go and check them out because they are so amazing and really do inspire.

We have two UK Guest Designers who have created stunning classes - Anna Bowkis and Tina Thomas (aka that talented scrapper lady who made the infamous Basic Grey Tree over on UKS! )

With RAKS and prizes up for grabs what are you waiting for???????

Hope to see ya there.

Dont forget to add the Bad Girls Blinkie to your blog - I will be checking back and one lucky scrapper who is caught flashing her blinkie over this weekend will receive a RAK from me!

Sharing.

Its not very often that Bobs lets me share the LO's I have created using his photographs - maybe its his age - he is almost 14 now and at that stage in his life where he is feeling conscious of his looks - he spends more and more time in front of the mirror just lately!

For this weeks Pencil Lines sketch Bobs agreed that I could use a photograph of him -its one I have used before in a couple of mini books and my Mom really likes it - so this page will be making its way into her Christmas pressie album:)

I used PP's from Scenic Route and the chipboard title was covered with the yummiest of suede effect papers from SEI.

So what else have I been up to - sleeping lots thanks to a change in some medication I have to take - talking lots on the phone to my Sis - she has her lil baby now so Im doing the big Sis bit and sharing with her my limited baby knowledge - its great to be an Auntie again and the guys are excited to be going to see their new cousin next weekend.

Talking of next weekend - the Bad Girls Christmas Workshop starts on Friday 16th - 12 totally amazing free classes spread across the weekend - you have plenty of time to gather together your supplies if you want to come and join in the fun.
See previous post if you want to get your name added to my RAK draw!

Heres are a few sneaky peaks of a couple more of the classes

Yummy eh?
I'll share a piccie of a lil Matchbox Cabinet I made which appeared in last months Scrapbook Inspirations Magazine - maybe just maybe this could be a lil clue as to what my class may be - LOL!

Christmas is just a few weeks away now - we have started some of the present buying - Bobs is developing an interest in photography and has asked for a digi camera - he took some piccies of Hubs and I last weekend - we didnt know - we were just standing chatting away and he snapped a few piccies which I like and will scrap - I hate having my picture taken and would much prefer to be behind the lens anyday!

Have fun - be happy - create

Bad Girls Workshop!

How would you like to have the chance to take part in 12 classes designed by Scrappers such as Prima DT members Cari Fennell and Michelle Van Etten - Michelle also teaches across the States and Europe as part of the CKU team of instructors!

How about a class designed by Memory Makers Master Iris Babao Uy or one specially designed by the original Bad Girl herself, Wendy Rago ?
Imagination Project DT member Celia King has put together an amazing class, as has my fellow Pencil Lines DT member Anne Jo Lexander. Thats not all either - there are even more classes from Bonnie Keller , Sri Sams and Ria Mojica .

As if thats not enough we have a couple of UK scrappers who have designed and created stunning classes just for this event - oh and not forgetting lil ol me too!

Sounds fun eh?

12 classes all taught over one weekend - no kits to buy - no price to pay - 12 free classes all broken down in to step by step stages, making the process of putting the projects together easy peasy for those who want to come along and get creative.

So do you wanna know when and where is all of this happening????

Get yourself over to Bad Girls message board for the weekend of 16th - 18th November - the first class goes live at 6pm PST on Friday 16th - Ok so I know for us in the UK thats like silly o' clock in the morning - but have no fear the classes will be around for the duration of the weekend and will be accesible until Friday 23rd.:)

Do you want to play along, have some fun, take classes and have a go at winning yourself a prize too?

If so then you have until 8am GMT on Saturday 24th November to complete and upload your project to the Bad Girls Gallery. One lucky scrapper from each class, who shares her creations in the BG gallery, will be selected at random and will receive a super lil prize from the Bad Girls Team.

Wanna see some sneaky peaks of the classes?
Ive just peeped into the workshop and spied these little beauties :)

There is a full list of all supplies needed to create each of the classes - go take a look on the message board and start gathering your supplies.

This is going to be a fantastic weekend of amazing classes - the perfect way for you to use up some of your surplus stash , have a little fun in the process and possibly make a few gifts to share - ummmm maybe not - once you see how stunning the creations are you will want to keep them for yourself!

Do you want to have a lil play now and maybe win yourself a RAK????

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Add this blinkie to your blog - leave me a comment with a link and during the weekend of 16th - 18th I will select one scrapper to win a bumper RAK of stash from me :)

Have fun - enjoy and go get gathering those supplies because the other class designers and I would love to see you over at the workshop.

Back to business!

I am so behind sharing my Pencil Lines LO this week - Ive been ultra busy with J and trying to be a teachery type Mommy person!

I loved the simplicity of this weeks sketch which was provided by guest designer Ingunn Markiewicz - someone whose work I have admired for the past few months after I stumbled across her name on one of the forums I frequent.

I used the reverse side of a sheet of SEI's Winnies Walls PP's and a sheet of tags and frames from the same range to create my interpretation of the sketch.
The felt flowers along the bottom were a bargain find from a local junk store - a huge bag for just £1!

Pencil Lines announced the names of two new DT members this week to - a huge welcome from me to Janine Langer and Yuko Motoyama

Today we have baked a cake - recording the weights of the ingredients used - we looked at how solids become affected when they are dissolved or heated - we talked about foods that we need to eat to stay healthy - foods that make us sick - foods that aren't good for our hearts and foods that we don't like - we talked about how foods make us feel - an orange is J's fav food so it makes him happy - Peas do not.

We drew a picture of the cake and listed the ingredients used to make it - we washed up and talked about the reasons why things need to be kept clean - bacteria - bugs - germs - all things J has a phobia over!

This teaching malarkey is easy peesy - J has learnt more in just one session making a cake than he has for the past 7 weeks - like he needs to understand algebra!

We will wait and see what happens on Friday when the bods and I get together to discuss the plans for J's future education! I'm not put off home edding at all - I really quite enjoy it and J is happy which is what is the most important thing - we have a wide circle of friends who all love J for the amazing person he is, so J isn't going to miss out on any social interaction - its not like he had positive social time at school anyway!

A couple of his buddies have called up to see him this afternoon and Hubs has taken the guys off to the beach - they miss having J around at school but no worries - they will still get to see him and have loads of fun.

So its back to business for me - whilst they are out romping on the sands Ive taken a few minutes to myself and am catching up on things.

I was pretty blown away yesterday to see one of my LO's had made LOTW over at UKS - I always pop by the home page each week to catch up on the posts there, so was pleasantly surprised to spot J's face smiling back at me :)

Last weekend I taught a lil acetate mini book class at Crop n Craft - the ladies enjoyed the class and I really enjoyed teaching them - we did have quite a giggle when one of the ladies started wrestling with the sewing machine!

Here are books made by Theresa and Veronica

Ive got two class kits with full instructions left for sale if anyone wants one just email me - they are £10 + £1.50 P&P. All you need to create the book is included - well apart from adhesive and your piccies obviously!

The guys will be home soon so I better go and start supper - home made winter veggie soup has been simmering away on the stove all day - fresh home made bread oh and of course a huge chunk of J's cake for puddin ....Jeez I will never lose weight at this rate!

Have a good one - be happy - enjoy
