The arrival of my Cocoa Daisy kit really got the old creative juices flowing. The vibrant colours of the kit are just so “me”. I adore purples, lime greens and shades of blue so much so that my wardrobe consists mainly of this colour palette!
Whilst having a wee blog hop I discovered this and thought I'd have a GO!
I really wanted to start scrapping the piccies Kirsty took of me whilst we were over in Ireland, but the red of my dress clashed terribly with the papers – editing to black and white is a god send isn’t it?

Breathe. Let go and remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure – it’s a bit deep but thanks go to Hubs and his positive attitude.
Sometimes things “get to me” – but his perspective on things soon has me smiling again:) He looks on life from a totally optimistic angle and is never negative about anything. He always knows when I am getting stressed and tells me to
Stop. Breathe. Let it go – you have now, this minute, to live and love and that’s all that matters.
His confident and upbeat way is so encouraging and thankfully it rubs off on the guys and myself – well maybe the guys more than me! My self goal for 2007 is to be more confident in my abilities – with Hubs supporting me I should achieve my goal.
I’ve been so busy lately that I fell a lil’ behind with Emily’s 52 week Art Journal Challenge!
Oppppssss! Whilst watching the latest offering from Shane Ritchie last night, I decided to play catch up!
Parents

I still cant bring myself to scrap piccies of my Dad – I know I should but each time I have tried, Ive ended up in tears :(
Instead I chose a piccie of my sis’s and me when we were ickle – we 3 were so loved and journaling on the reverse tells just how much my parents meant to me as a child –thanks Dad for the sweetest childhood memories a girl could ever wish for.x.
Nature

I used large skeleton leaf matted onto Bazzill cardstock and then added the clock face minus hands to reflect that Nature is a timeless beauty.
Bedroom

Often I will lay in bed looking at the indentations in the cob walls and think of Hubs forefathers who had created this safe haven for us to share.
Someone else

The prompt was to ask someone else to contribute to the art card – without any hesitation I knew what I would use.
Whilst we home educating J he asked for a “Clunky Clunky Laptop” ??? J uses neoglisms daily - for those who dont know, neoglisms are made up words used to describe something - another of his is Ella Bella = Umbrella.
It certainly makes life a little different when we are trying to work out some of the stranger concoctions!
Anyways after a few days we worked out that he meant an old typewriter! Makes sense doesnt it?
Having severe sensory difficulties with his hands J refused to write. In my desperation to get J remotly interested in starting to write, I trekked through the town centre with him in tow! He knew exactly what he wanted – nothing new – it had to be an old typewriter, similar to the ones you see in B&W movies. Finally we discovered one hiding in the rear of a charity shop – it didn’t work so it was sent away to be fixed. The day we collected the “Clunkey Clunkey” J was so happy. He settled himself down and typed away. Within seconds he came to show me his work – he had for the very first time written something that could be read –
to mom I luyow.
That A4 piece of paper has been hung on the wall in my craft room ever since. Having been told that my boy would never write, it still brings a tear to my eye.....he will prove them all wrong, I know he will :) I’m so proud of his abilities and whilst he still has his difficulties in life, he is not a quitter. I snipped a line of his typing off to use for my card.
Surprise

Bobs was so desperate for a proper surf board. He had been using a floaty for a couple of years but had decided he needed a proper board just like Dads. Floaties make surfing really easy whereas a custom board is a whole different game. Bobs ability to jump on his new board and ride the waves with such ease really surprised me.
Phew!
I’m all caught up now!
I’ve signed myself up to a couple of new places – have you seen scrapinstyletv? Theres a few UK gals already enjoying the partaay!
And look here for Anitas new Secret!
Bob’s dental appointment went well and thankfully he isn’t enduring any pain with his newly acquired lower brace. He struggled with supper last night and gave up half way through, opting to go for a bowl of soup instead – somehow he managed a huge bag of Mike N Ikes afterwards though! Ummmm me thinks he was trying it on! LOL!
Im having my stitches out this afternoon – ouch!
Have a good day.
T.x.
