There are some friendships that I wished had never started because time revealed they weren’t friends at all – their negativity was soul destroying.
Best friends, well they are like diamonds, precious and rare, whereas false friends are like leaves, you find them every bloomin where! ( Gotta love Hubs Grans lil words of wisdom )
True friendship is indeed a rare phenomenon. True friendship for me is based on trust, loyalty, an understanding that needs no written rules – if you share such closeness then unconsciously you know the boundaries – not for one minute would you contemplate crossing the line for fear of losing something so precious in your life.
Ive been blessed with some very special friendships and many have stood the test of time – even though my special buddie no longer breathes the fresh Devon air, I know she is with me always – in a totally selfish way I miss her terribly – I want to hear her laugh again – I want to dance the night away with the crazy loon – I want to see her smile light up the room – but these are my wants and she was needed elsewhere to make the place a lil brighter – Sleep tight darling C – I love you.x.
Through my darkest days I have known that I could rely on two people. These gals have been there for me through thick and thin – there’s a saying - you know who your true friends are when everyone else walks out - they walk in.
This is so true! They have listened to my woes, celebrated my happiness, both cradled me when my Dad died, they shared every one of my guys successes and gushed just as badly as I have, they were there for me when J was diagnosed with Autism and picked me up of the floor – they are part of me and equally hold a precious place in my heart. Most importantly neither of these gals, have ever judged me for as Mother Theresa said
"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
Inspired by Anna’s blog post a few days ago I decided to make a lil something to celebrate the years of friendship I have had with my buddie Linz.
A chance meeting 13 years ago sparked off the closest friendship I have ever experienced. This lil wonder makes me laugh so much that I could pee my pants! She’s naïve, she’s soft, she’s gentle, she’s a wonderful Mother and makes the best God Mother any kid could wish for – thankfully both my guys have her in their lives.
So heres my LO to commemorate that first meeting!

Journalling reads –
Back in the Summer of ’94 we had no worries – life was such a breeze – just one long party – lazy days chillin with a beer – watching the surf – no ties – no commitments – living life day by day – we were free spirits – we became friends.
The piccie is of Linz in her VW hi top – the crazy loon lived in for two years before she met Mr Right and set of on her round the world travels – by the time she returned I was a Mom with 2 kids! She soon caught up and entered the world of the domesticity with two rug rats in tow!
I spent a couple of hours yesterday just chillin in Linz garden….drinking Tea and putting the worlds to rights whilst we watched her guys play. Out came the camera and I snapped away

We started chatting about the old days – how we met – how our friendship had grown – how we had celebrated so many special days together – how we had seen people come and go in our lives – its is our life – we share it – the good and the bad. As the afternoon progressed out came the piccie albums – how we laughed at our fashion disasters – the crazy WTF hairstyles and clothing!
We looked at our younger selves and what a shock it was to see how firm and taught our bodies were way back then – those were our pre cellulite days for sure! Oh the joys of getting older.
Just look at this surfy babe....aint she a cutie!

Afternoons like this are the best by far – I love spending time with my buddies and pledge to do it more often!

Thanks to the WWW some friendships form before you even met face to face and I wanna say a huge, huge Thanks to Sarah and Terrie for the little packet which arrived this morning! OMGoodness gals – you really shouldn’t have! How did you know I was desperate for Dance Dance? She was one of the first Momiji’s I received and whilst cleaning my craft room, in preparation of your visit, I accidentally knocked her off the shelf and decapitated the poor thing! No amount of Glossy Accents would keep in place so she went to Momiji Heven aka the bin! So Thanks for the lil gift…I shall treasure it .x.x.x (Mr Postie peed himself when he saw what you had written on the front of the box! Terrie – you are a crazy fool but I wubs ya.x.)
Another parcel also arrived…Oh yummy! Thanks to Lynn for fantastic service – you really are the best. I can’t wait to play with the stamps and have loads of ideas running through my head!

Have you checked out SISTV yet?
Its bloomin fantastic – I love it....such a warm fuzzy wuzzy place, full of the most awesome talent.

I attempted my first challenge LO – not sure I like it BUT I have an idea for something else so will be having another go!
Have a fantastic day and enjoy.
Celebrate your friendships and tell those you can that you love em.
T.x.

You are welcome :)
I love your challenge lo. I may just try that one but I did one similar of Charlotte last year so maybe not lol. I am doing the One Little Word challenge later!
Glad you like my 'unique' addressing system! Didn't realise about the decapitated momiji but now you know why me and Sarah were giggling like stupid school girls in the corner and writing on the pc, we were listing what ones you had but beer brain meant forgetting on the long journey between shelf and PC (yes we had goldfish brain). Glad you had a good day with Linz, bit of a babe with that surfboard ain't she? Hope eyes are healing. X

As ever your words serve to make us think and evaluate our lives and the importance of people rather than things in it.
My cousin Linda is a great one for saying 'it's only stuff, stuff can be replaced but people can't', she is so right. I can't wait until August when I get to have a IRL hug, that big pond separates us and she is one of my bestest friends.
Thanks again Tracie for the opportunity to reflect and feel good.
wub!
