Kaptured Home

I played last night :)
Im so happy when Im messing about sticking and cutting.
Round 2 of the DC classes are fab!
Im loving all of them.

Its nice to sit and whizz up a page without having to think about it IYKWIM?
I really tested myself with Karen Millers class.....instead of using a proper needle and thread I decided to beat my fear of using the sewing machine on my LO.

I tried it a couple of times before and ended up throwing the LO's away....I got myself into a real pickle with tensions, sticky needles etc etc.
Having used the sewing machine this week to make up my craft room curtains and blinds I was feeling ever so slightly more confident to have a go!

Heidi Grace Meadow Flocked Addons were layered across the photograph before I summons up the courage to get sewing. The alphas are Heidi Swapp which have been given a coat of cream acrylic and then once dry, I outlined the letters using a black liner pen.

Title - The Kaptured Perfect Moment - Kirsty took this piccie of the guys when she was down this way in Dec 06....I love the way she captured the guys smiles...to have a piccie of them both smiling at the same time is very rare!

Feeling not at all tired and raring to play with the machine some more I had a go at this weeks Speshals Dare....it makes it home.
A very simple LO using Pebbles Inc Real Life labels and embossed words from Paper Loft. I machine stiched around the piccies which are of our home and village.

Our house is a safe place and has been for many generations of Hubs family.
Its ancient, its historic, its our heritage, a place where Hubs roots are firmly planted....he was concieved here and will be carried from this place in his box...its our nest.

The piccies are just lil snap shoots of parts of the house that make it special to us.
The old milk churn which sits against the white washed wall has been there forever and a day...left over from days gone by when there were two working dairies in the village. The old rusty nail in the beam in our bedroom....Grandad put it there over 50 years ago....noone knows why....its just there. The keystone in our fire place which is known as Alfie by us all...Alfie was the keystone of the family...he held it all together.

Today we have been pottering around....sorted out the guys bedrooms and turfed out a few unwanted bits and bobs....called down to friends for lunch and played with lil Max. J gave Max one of his Hot Wheels Tracks as he didnt play with it anymore...Max loved it.

This afternoon we are supposed to be attacking the garden....J is meant to be helping Hubs whilst I catch up on a few things, but I just caught him filling the bombs in preperation of this afternoons water fight!
He's been told to help cut the lawn and then we will attack one another with the gazillion ballons which are primed and ready to go.

Water fights are such good fun....me thinks the gardening can wait til later.....watch out guys....Im going to get a head start.....bombs away!

T.x.

Don't get wet!

I love the LO about your family home, perhaps this is something I should think about, as DH was born in the house we live in, and like your DH is the only home he has lived in, quite an achievement in this day and age.

I so enjoy reading your blog Tracie, I feel comforted and nourished by your ethic and belief in family commitment and a 'decent' standard of behaviour and living together with a good mix of humour and love, thank you for sharing such moments.
