Im Benevolent and Creative Apparently!!

I saw this on Debs blog and had a go myself....apparently I am a Benevolent Creator!!

Your imagination, confidence, willingness to explore, and appreciation of beauty make you a CREATOR.
You are independent, and you enjoy your self-sufficiency.
Defying convention, you are very innovative, and you have a vivid imagination.
The look of things is important to you, and you have a keen eye for aesthetic beauty in multiple arenas.
You have a strong interest in what is new and exciting—and that includes forging ahead with new ideas, not simply discovering what is already out there.
Your eagerness to seek new and varied experiences leads you into many different situations.
You're not set on one way of doing things, and you are creative when it comes to finding novel solutions to complex problems.
You trust yourself to be innovative and resourceful.
Your confidence allows you to take your general awareness and channel it into creativity.
You're not one to force your positions on a group, and you tend to be fair in evaluating different options.
You're not afraid to let your emotions guide you, and you're generally considerate of others' feelings as well.
You have a strong sense of style and value your personal presentation - friends may even seek your style advice from time to time.

You are a great person to interact with—understanding, giving, and trusting—in a word, BENEVOLENT
You don't mind being in social situations, as you feel comfortable enough with people to be yourself.
Your caring nature goes beyond a basic concern: you take the time to understand the nuances of people's situations before passing any sort of judgment.
You're a good listener, and even better at offering advice.
You're concerned with others at both an individual and societal level—you sympathize with the plights of troubled groups, and you can care about people you've never met.
Considering many different perspectives is something at which you excel, and you appreciate that quality in others.
Other people's feelings are important to you, and you're good at mediating disputes.
Because of your understanding and patience, you tend to bring out the best in people.
You're not one to force your positions on a group, and you tend to be fair in evaluating different options.
You're not afraid to let your emotions guide you, and you're generally considerate of others' feelings as well.
You have a strong sense of style and value your personal presentation - friends may even seek your style advice from time to time.

and to be a better person I need to

Appreciate the earthly, practical elements of things—there is beauty in form as well.
While you are good at thinking abstractly, focusing on details a bit more may help you discover things about the world.

You spend a lot of time taking care of others, but don't forget to take care of yourself!
Sometimes you can get overcommitted, and when you sacrifice spending time with those close to you, it can make them feel unimportant. <<<<>>>>

If I knew then what I know now...

I love the inspirational themes set by the Speshal Girls and I try my hardest to complete the weekly challenges but it isnt always possible due to shoppey commitments, the guys hectic social lives and of course DH's need to see me for a few minutes once in a while.
Im always so busy these days and have neglected extended members of my family a tad too much of late. My Mom is always asking me to make her something and I never have the time SO I decided my attempt at the challenge would make its way to her.
If I knew then what I know now....I wouldnt change a single thing.
I really wouldnt change a thing about my childhood. It was a a bloomin marvellous childhood....ponies, nannys to entertain us, exotic holidays abroad and I have fantastic memories, although it wasnt always rosey! I was a little rebel and I never quite understood some of the "rules"....there were arguements and plenty of tears shed over the years until at 17 I packed up and left home to go it alone.
I remember my Mom saying to me
"you wont understand until you have children of your own"
and me thinking blah, blah blah, nag, nag, nag.....yeah right!
20+ years later I am blessed with a son who is at the horrid "pre pube" stage of his development....hormones are raging, he eats non stop ( when he manages to get himself out of his pit ) and his bedroom has started to develop a rather unsavoury aroma, which floods my hypersensitive nostrils and makes me wanna reach for the Febreeze PDQ!
I sit chatting to DS about his life, his goals, his dreams etc and all the time Im sure he is thinking blah, blah, blah, nag, nag, nag.....yeah right.......just like I did when I was a kid!
So the 12x12 layout I planned didnt quite happen and instead I made a ickle Tri Fold for my Mom....just to sort of say thanks for preparing me for Motherhood.... even though I didnt know it at the time!

I used 3 bugs in a rug ~Tickled Pink papers, available from our shop and the ribbons are from Carole's shoppey ~ Ribbon Mad

Sew Colourful - Part Two

Here are the rest of the entries in my Journal which were created by the Eager Beavers.
Cross Stitch was made by Butterfly....cross stitch...now that needs patience!! JaneyCutting made the buttons LO...buttons are a passion of mine and I appear to be collecting far too many...ooopppsss. The colours of Autumn was created by Laura Godfrey ...I wish there was such a thing as touchy feely via the internet because this LO is so tactile...I keep stroking the fabric leaves that Laura has machine stiched to the LO. Finally my sign in page complete with tags.
Thanks again to all the gals for a fabby journal....I must organise DH to retrieve my sewing machine from the darkest recesses of the attic and have a go myself!

Sew Colourful!

I love Circle Journals and have recently been involved in a CJ with a great bunch of gals on UKS.
The Mayoress was our CJ host and a mighty fine host she is too....MWWWWAAAHHAH thanks Rach for keeping me up to date with my posting dates!

I am hopeless at using a sewing machine on my layouts so thought if I used the theme Sew Colourful it might prompt members of the journal to show me their sewing techniques.

Im now the proud owner of a journal stacked full of inspiration.

Thanks to all the Eager Beavers for taking the time to add such wonderful entries...I shall treasure my journal always.
Blogger wont let me upload all the images today....grrrr! So Ive uploaded them in order as they appear in the journal and will add the rest of the pages tomorrow.

From the top...obviously my cover... er made by me!, my entry followed by Suzanne's yummy Stitch LO, then PINK by Ukali...just love all that pink going on, Rach's is next and she is a girl after my own heart...Blue + Water + Sky = Happy Days, Helen PP is next with her excellent machine stitched pieces of fabric...I love the fabric used and need the paisley for my bedroom, Linda321's is next...WOWZER I wish I could sew on my LO's like you can....I really must dig out my sewing machine and get practising!

Its a Dogs Life!

We have spent the past couple of days looking for a new addition for our family.....not the pitter patter of tiny feet...paws more like!
We have a dog already...Ozzie, who is a small Jack Russell. He will be three in December and we feel the time has come for us to introduce a playmate into the fold.
Off we trotted to the local Dogs Trust and after spending almost an hour looking and arrring at all the dogs we happened to stumble upon Capser. He's an 11 month old pedigree Labrador and is just so soft and cuddly.
The guys fell in love with him straight away and I must admit he pulled at my heart strings with his beautiful soppy eyes.

We spent an hour or so with him in the pound playing ball. He is such an obedient pup and really full of life. We lead a pretty active life so need a dog that has plenty of energy and he just ticked all the boxes for us.
We drove home to collect Ozzie so we could introduce him to his potential new "brother"....ummmmm thats when the fun started! Ozzie was not at all impressed by Casper. There was no growling or hackles lifted, infact there was nothig....no connection at all, which is very strange for Oz has he is a dog lover and has many four legged playmates. we said our goodbyes to Casper feeling a little downhearted that the meeting hadnt gone as well as we had hoped.

We slept on our thoughts over night and decided that this morning we would take both woofers to the beach...neutral territory and open space might make a difference....it didnt! Casper is such an adorable dog...housetrained, good manners, knows all the commands BUT Ozzie and him just didnt hit it off! There was no spark between them. Ozzie ignored Casper and was most put out that the huge blonde beastie was getting slightly more attention from the guys than he was!

The guys adored Casper...he was such a loopy cuddly fun loving hound but that connection we needed to see between both dogs just didnt happen at all.

The last tick box for Casper was his home visit. We needed to see how he would react when he saw the wabbits, Dingle and Dangle....ermmm Casper loved them....well I think he would have loved to eat them! From the second he saw them he didnt take his eyes off them. He was salivatting just at the thought of getting him munchers around their fat little tums! i tried for an hor to get him to sit and look with him trying to brak down the sides of the wabbit run to get to the bundles of fluff but he wasnt having it....he had his mind firmly set on a wabbit supper!

So poor pup Casper has been returned to the dogs home after his day out to the beach. I cried when we left him because he is adorable...J cried because Casper was his new best friend, R cried because Casper loved to play footie and Im sure I saw DH fighting back a tear or two. We both hated having to leave him...both hated that we had rejected him because TBH he was a complete poppet....we just need to know that any addition is going to fit in with us all...

We have to think about the animals we already have here...Ozzie wasnt keen, the Rabbits certainly didnt like being hounded by the slobbering beast and lordy knows what the cat thinks b/c we havent seen him since Casper chased him over the wall!!

A litter of Puppies are due next weekend....so maybe just maybe we may hear the patter of tiny paws very soon.

Animal Sk8tas

The new skate bowl has opened in the village and the guys just love it.
All the sk8ta guys families have worked so bloomin hard raising money to get this bowl built. Each family buying bags of cement weekly, all the Dads giving their spare time to shovel, dig and wheelbarrow the excess soil to provide the guys with a safe environment to spend their days skatin.

It really annoys me that in our village we have nothing for the Youff to use yet the OAPS have a brand new purpose built day centre, a wonderful bowling green complete with a modern utility building kitted out with a bar, dance floor and showers AND an OAP meeting hall!! 3 buildings dedicated to OAPs and all are hardly ever used. The Youff get a piddly area of land, no bigger than a postage stamp, given to them by the parish council to use as they wish WITHOUT any funding at all to provide them with the things they need.

The Sports Council wouldnt cough up, grant after grant was applied for and all rejected so it was up to us parents to dig deep into our pockets and buy, beg or borrow all the necessary items of machinery to give them what they wanted. I counted over 57 Youffs there today all chilling and skatin and yet when I wandered over to the bowling green it was shut up and there was not a soul to be seen...grrrrrr
Can you see these Animal trainers that Ds1 is wearing....just look how wrecked they are! I am embarrassed to see him wearing such tatty looking shoes BUT this photograph was taken exactly two hours after he had bought them!

Cheesy Thinkings

I just love this photograph of J. It was taken earlier this week after he had been for a surf at Putsborough Beach....you know for an Autistic, Dyspraxic kid he has the best balance ever! His gross motor skills are far better than mine....its his fine skills which really cause the struggles :( so buttons and zips are the bane of his life!
Im gonna sit down tonight and do some scrappin...."the cousins" have just left! The house is so quiet and certainly smells a little fresher now we dont have 5 pairs of stinky trainers scattered across the kitchen floor! What is it with mens feet???? Why do they always smell so rank????
I'll leave you with that cheesy thought.

A Fresh Start....Ouch!

After doing lordy knows what to my template I have wipped my blog and will start again!

Firtsly I want to say a HUGE thanks to Kate for helping me out when I got in a pickle. She also created the banner above....Thanks...you are a star.

Second thanks got to the Jellies for prompting me to update and refresh my blog.

I spent last night chilling out on the beach with my guys and "the cousins". DH came home early and we packed up loads of yummies.

I really dont know how my guys do it....I was bloomin freezing in the sea even with my wetsuit on...my tootsies went numb after 10 mins but the guys stayed in for well over two hours. The waves were really awesome BUT bigger and better are forecast for the weekend!
DS1 caught a huge wave and bailed just before me. His board shot up in the air and clonked me right on top of my head! OUCH! Under I went and just as I resurfaced his board crashed down on my face....OUCH again!
I am now nursing a lovely balck eye, swollen eyebrow and a ickle cut on the bridge of my nose! Its the tiniest of cuts but is so sore :(
I rode in to the waters edge on my board and sat there feeling very dazed....Ive seen people have their faces really smashed by fins and boards over the years....this was nothing in comparrison but it was my face and it hurt!
I gave up for the night....prised my lardy back side out of my shortie and sat on the beach and watched the guys for the rest of the night...we built a fire and ate the yummies...being on the beach late at night is so much fun...all that space for the guys to run around and not have to worry about kickin sand over the grockles.
Home to a hot shower, hot chocolate and a huge slice of cherry pie....yummmmmmmmmm
